South Acton was nominated in the top four finalist for the London Child Poverty Awards 2009 and came second in the final result.  The nomination was based on the team working in the Centre and the excellent support offered to parents from all team members.

Surinder Khera has joined the Family and Community Team to offer parents advice and guidance on training or career paths into work.  Surinder has a background in adult careers advice and has supported a variety of parents in their return to work.  Surinder is available in reception Monday to Friday 8.30am - 12.30pm for parents and in the afternoons for appointments.

Attached are the new term dates for the academic year 2009-10.  All training days are included.

Jobcentre Plus are now fully established at the Centre, offering a drop in service Monday to Friday from 9.30 -5.00pm.  The Personal Advisors from the Jobcentre are Sharon Thomson-Davis and Sharon Grey who are both experienced staff.
